Belle Fourche Cowboy Band

2007 Cheyenne Frontier Days

The Belle Fourche Cowboy Band would like to thank the city of Belle Fourche, the Chamber of Commerce, the area businesses and all of our faithful audiences. Without your support we wouldn't be able to continue spreading joy to so many folks.

SPRING 2008

Greetings Cowboy Band Members:

This is the 25 th Anniversary of the reorganized Cowboy Band. Therefore, we will be offering memorabilia to commemorate the anniversary. This will be a surprise when you arrive for the Roundup.

Our Chili Feed/Christmas concert was very successful in Dec 1 st. Some members from the Belle Fourche High School Band joined us. We had a nice full instrumental sound while some of the members joined in with singing. There was a large crowd and Cowboy Band added to the joy of the occasion.

We are preparing for our summer appearances. Notice there are two revisions on our schedule. We WON’T be playing in Hulett on June 14 th, but we will be playing in Sturgis for the Cavalry Days on June 7 th. We will play on a flatbed in the parade at 10:00 A.M. followed by a 30 minute concert at the Park. Also, the Butte-Lawrence County Fair date is on August 14 th.

As most of you are aware, Jack Voyles passed away in February. A group of about 18 Cowboy Band members attended the funeral in red shirts to honor Jack, our longest standing band member. His family has contributed his memorial money to Cowboy Band. Thank You to the Voyles family for their generosity.

The Tri-State Museum in Belle Fourche is going to do a special display of Cowboy Band photos and memorabilia during the Roundup. If you live locally, you can check in your items at the museum a couple of weeks before. If you live out of state, bring it when you come and the museum will check it in and display it while you are in town. Let’s make this a beautiful display, since the museum has offered us this opportunity.

The recipient for the 2008 Charlie McClung Award is Margo Ensz, a trumpet player from Belle Fourche High School. She is a multi-talented young lady who is also a good student and a great athlete. CONGRATULATIONS Margo!

Sincerely,

Diane & Jerry Barker
